Master Classes

These master classes reflect some of the areas that I love as well as areas where I’ve seen and/or experienced the largest strides. Along with these offerings I can work with your input to craft a workshop/master class geared toward an area of particular interest or concern for your group. Improv Pitfalls

Improv is like an immense, ancient, undiscovered temple. In every show actors are exploring bits of it together. Like so many other ancient temples some rooms are boobytrapped and the walls are littered with the bones of scenes which couldn’t escape them. This workshop helps identify these perilous rooms and identify the traps and triggers so that we can safely survive if we ever find ourselves in one.

Improv Sabotage

This workshop will challenge participants by placing restrictions, requirements, and other potential landmines into scenes to unleash potential. Has your improv become a bit ordinary? Have your choices become a bit predictable? Refill your creativity with a little sabotage.

A show format of the same title can be taught in tandem or on its own.

Dramatis Persona

Interaction with the audience and with fellow players outside of scenes are oft-neglected aspects of improv but are crucial to the theatrical experience. Who we are on stage doesn’t always mirror who we are in real life. That on stage persona defines how we interact with the audience and our fellow players. In this workshop we’ll play around with some different personas, workshop some audience interactions, explore different ways of getting suggestions, and work toward creating a richer experience for audiences that’s more fun for players and patrons alike.

Group Scenes

Drawing on lessons learned performing All Of Us, a long form whose promise is that “every player will be in every scene,” this workshop will exercise the improv muscles needed to navigate these large, sometimes unwieldy scenes.
